President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of the tenure of the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, and the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Mohammed Ali.
The two media executives will serve for another three years, beginning October 20, 2026.
Dembos, who was first appointed NTA Director-General in October 2023, is a former National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers Union (RATTAWU). He has held several positions within the NTA, including General Manager of NTA Lokoja and NTA Kano.
Ali Mohammed Ali, also appointed in 2023, is a veteran journalist and media manager with more than 30 years of experience. He holds degrees in English, International Affairs and Mass Communications.
President Tinubu urged the two chief executives to justify the confidence reposed in them by continuing to advance the mandates of their respective organisations and support the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
