Popular gospel musician, Tope Alabi has responded to the controversy surrounding the song Oniduro Mi on social media.

She said “Let Me Acknowledge That My Mistake Was That I Externalised A Personal Message In Public; And I’m Awfully Sorry For Doing That.”

Initially, I didn’t want to delve into the controversy over the gospel hit song, “Oniduro,” because I have intervened behind the scenes in concert with other stakeholders in gospel music ministry.

However, I discovered that online media would not allow the dust to settle calmly.

I want to state that Tope Alabi, Adeyinka Adesioye a.k.a Alaseyori and Tolu Adelegan are all members of the same family of God and they belong to the same calling – singing ministry.

“Adeyinka is my daughter in ministry. Her Pastor asked me to pray for her because she took after me, which I did wholeheartedly Envy who? Never!
I love the girl so much.

She can confirm to you, sir, that we relate so well. God has given each of us the grace to go as far as His enablement could carry us.

The atmosphere is wide enough for everyone to stretch her wings of gift without disturbing one another.”

“……I’m being bombarded with calls and visits by Pastors since Monday morning till now. As we speak, another group of Pastors are coming in now. I guess it is because of this same issue.

“……I have been inundated with diverse counsel from different quarters. I hardly sleep since this matter started.

While I attend to Nigerian fans on phone calls and online chats in the daytime, our people in the Diaspora will engage me throughout the greater part of the night over the same matter.

“…..I’m not a perfect person yet, I’m still a work in progress in the hands of God.

I want people to see me as a mere mortal with my own weaknesses, human frailties and as a learner in the limitless knowledge of God.

I am who I am today only by the mercy of God and the support of millions of gospel music lovers.

I have no support base elsewhere outside the awesome Nigerians who feel uncomfortable with my statement.

I see the depth of anger as the measure of their love, admiration and solid support for me and for all of us in the singing ministry.

“Let me acknowledge that my mistake was that I externalised a personal message in public; and I’m awfully sorry for doing that.

My friends, colleagues and leaders in ministry who criticized me either openly or privately simply feel disappointed because of the love we share.

We are too knitted in the Body of Christ to allow anything to divide us.

Human factor is part of our life.
“For those who keep quiet but chose to intercede for us on their knees instead, may God honour them all.

And for those who defended me even without speaking with me, I can’t appreciate them enough.”

“…… Sister Tolu Adelegan is a woman I hold in high esteem. Adeyinka, like I said earlier, is my daughter in ministry, they are all valuable sisters and associates that nothing can separate us.

This is a mere fog, it will fade away in no time.

“For the comic fellows who are already releasing comedy skits over the matter, I burst into laughter (she laughed again) watching some today.

What a creative people we are. Nigerians are awesome minds who will fashion out tension relieving stuff from every situation.

…I appreciate them all. The Bible says in Hebrew 12: 14 that we should pursue peace with everybody and holiness, those are the conditions for us to see God. This is the acceptable path for all of us to follow…

The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has ordained 5,000 men and women as pastors during the 2025 Global Ministers Conference.

The ordination, which took place at the Prayer City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, was the climax of the four-day conference themed “The Message, the Messenger and the Power.”

Addressing the new pastors before the Sunday service, Olukoya urged them to remain dedicated to their calling and shun rebellion, describing it as a “killer.” He cited the biblical example of Absalom, who rebelled against his father, King David, but died on the battlefield.

The cleric also warned against self-ordination and questioned the authenticity of some who parade themselves as “general overseers, papas, and superintendents” on the internet.

“You are ordained today; whose anointing are you carrying — the oil of God or of man? If it is men’s, you better back out now. Only God can call and ordain you,” Olukoya said.

He further charged the newly ordained pastors not to oppress church members but to be diligent and faithful in their service.

“From today, you shall not be the same person again,” he declared.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared a moving account of his journey from barefoot days in secondary school to becoming one of the most influential Christian leaders in the world.

Speaking at the 50th anniversary celebration of the All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM) in Abuja, Adeboye reflected on his humble beginnings in a village so small it wasn’t on Nigeria’s map. He recalled seasons when faith was his only currency, yet God’s faithfulness never failed.

“Your promotion is not in the hand of man. Your promotion is in the hand of God,” Adeboye told the congregation, urging Nigerians not to define themselves by present hardships but to trust God as the ultimate promoter.

The service was also a celebration of ACFM’s remarkable journey from a modest “batcher” to a global mission with churches across Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, and Burkina Faso. Its founder, Rev. Williams Okoye, described the theme, “God Our Helper” (1 Samuel 7:12), as both timely and fitting.

Guests, including former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim and Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship leader Ifeanyi Odedo, shared heartfelt testimonies of how the church shaped their lives, faith, and public service.

For Pastor Adeboye, the day was more than an anniversary—it was living proof that no beginning is too small for God to transform into greatness.

CAC Condemns Fatoyinbo Over Remarks on Apostle Babalola’s Wealth, Family

The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) has criticised the Founder of Commonwealth of Zion Ministry, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, for comments about the late Apostle Ayo Babalola, the church’s first General Evangelist.

In a video trending on social media, Fatoyinbo described Babalola as a poor man despite being highly anointed, questioning the welfare of his children.

Reacting in a statement on Thursday, August 14, 2025, CAC’s Director of Publicity, Pastor Ade Alawode, described the remarks as “insensitive and ill-informed,” saying it was wrong to equate anointing with material prosperity.

Quoting Luke 12:15 and 1 Timothy 6:10, the church said the Bible does not link wealth to spiritual anointing, adding that Fatoyinbo’s comment promoted a flawed prosperity message that could encourage greed and moral decay.

The CAC noted that Babalola, who began his ministry in 1928, was known for sacrificial service, charity, and humility, rather than materialism. It stated that he supported education, fed the poor, and provided accommodation for many, including non-family members.

The church also clarified that Babalola’s children, Mama Eunice Wuraola Ogini and Apeke Adeniyi, are alive, active in church service, and living modestly.

CAC further highlighted Babalola’s achievements, including being honoured by the colonial government during Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Nigeria in 1956, and owning one of the best Ford Jeeps of his era.

“Apostle Babalola’s legacy, more than 66 years after his death, continues to inspire generations,” the statement read. “The measure of a believer’s anointing is not in material accumulation, but in sacrificial service.”
